Planned Visit in May 2023

Burntwood Family History Group are planning a trip to the Manchester/Salford area in May. To avoid clashes with the Coronation and the May Bank Holidays, the proposed date is Wednesday 17th May. Depending on the size of the coach, and the extent to which we manage to fill it, the cost should be about £20. To make it viable, we intend to make the trip available to members of other local groups, in particular to local gardening groups. Salford has a number of attractions but, for BFHG members, we think the principle one will be the thoroughly recommended

At Salford Quays, you can also visit

There is also plenty of retail therapy to be enjoyed there, or, for those who just want a gentle day out, you can walk round the quays trying to spot the stars visiting the BBC studio.

As an alternative, and a little further afield, we will be offering people the chance to spend the day at the latest Royal Horticultural Society garden

We will be giving full details of the cost and pick-up places/times nearer to the date of the visit, once we have finalised the booking. For now, we just want you to put the date in your diary, and on your calendar, and let us know if you would like to join us on 17th May. Whichever option you choose, it promises to be an interesting and brilliant day out.
