During past years, we have organised coach trips to London and other locations to visit places of genealogical interest. These have included The Family History Centre (TNA), The Public Record Office, The Society of Genealogists and The Family History Fair at the National Exibhition Centre in Birmingham
Past local visits have included those to The County and Diocesian Record Offices at Lichfield and Stafford, The Family History Centre at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Lichfield, The South Staffordshire Military Museum in Whittington, The National Memorial Arboretum in Alrewas and the 'Who Do You Think You Are' Show at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham.
The Group has been represented several times at Local History Fairs at Lichfield, Stafford and Walsall, The Millennium Point and the Mail Box, both in Birmingham.
We have been represented at the Great Wyrley Local History Society and the Burntwood Wakes Festival, 'Saturday Fun Day' and we have held Open Days' at Burntwood Library
We are planning a visit to the 'Who Do You Think You Are' live show at the NEC, Birmingham.

It is being held on Thursday 6th, Friday 7th and Saturday 8th April 2017.
The cost depends upon the number of persons wishing to go. The date will be chosen that is suitable to most Members wishing to go.
If you are interested in going on this trip, please contact Steve Bailey
Register your interest, inform him which day is most suitable for yourself, or just ask for further information.
We have planned a visit to Northern France to visit some of the battlefield sites.
The company that we have chosen to go with is Leger Holiday’s. The chosen trip is a five day tour titled “All Quiet on the Western Front”. See Leger Holidays on the Internet for more details at

The places of interest are Tyne Cot Cemetery, Canadian Cemetery, The Menin Gate Memorial, Thiepval Memorial to the missing and the Visitors’ Centre plus much more.

Specialist guides are provided but extra costs are payable for museum entrance and your own insurance.

The date of the visit is Monday 22nd May to Friday 26th May 2017.
The price at the moment depends on numbers going, the level of coach service and the quality of the hotel room. Single rooms are available at an extra cost. Coach services are equipped with reclining seats, air conditioning and on-board toilets. There are various pick up points including Lichfield Bus Station and details will follow in due course.
