Burntwood Family History Group
Transcription Project

The Group has been very industrious in its transcription of local records. Our transcription project is now in its fifteenth year and we have transcribed numerous local records including indexes or full transcriptions of many parish and non-conformist registers, school admission registers, hospital burial registers and monumental inscriptions. For a full list of our transcription, please our Publications For Sale

Our transcriptions are mainly produced from microfiche film. We have more volunteers to transcribe, than we have microfiche readers.
If you have a microfiche reader that is no longer of use to you, and you would like to donate it to us, please contact one of Transcript Project Team

Due to changes in computer technology we sell mainly CD-ROMs but we still have some floppy discs available. The latest work is the transcription of the parish records of Saint Peter's Church, Hednesford. Progress is slow, as the early records are extremely difficult to read. Mike Woolridge is the organiser of this work and he has a group of transcribers and checkers working with him.

If anyone feels that they would like to help, Mike would be pleased to welcome them and help them to get started.
