Peter MASON was born in Brownhills, Staffordshire in 1945 but lives in Greenheath Road, Hednesford, Staffordshire.
He is a father of two
He studied art at the College of Art Stafford. There in 1962 he was awarded the National Diploma in Design in Painting and Lithography
This period in societal history influenced him greatly, especially the Pop Art painting movement, and he particularly admired the works of Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol
He extended his training at The University of Leeds where he was awarded his degree and then began his career as a teacher of Art and Design
During his teaching career he was seconded to The University of Birmingham achieving the Diploma in Art Education contributing to his Masters Degree awarded in 1977
During his teaching career he has taught Art and Design in secondary schools in Liverpool, Walsall and Hednesford to 11 to 18 year olds.
He has also run evening classes for adults teaching drawing and water colours
He retired from Kingsmead School, in Hednesford, at Christmas 2008
Since his retirement, he has been able to concentrate on his creative artistic work. He has an unusual talent of creating pictures and images from British and foreign postage stamps. He has produced portraits as well as images in tribute to some of his favourite great artists. His pictures have been featured in newspapers and magazines, and he has appeared on radio and television. Purchasers of his works of art include celebrities as well as members of the public who wish to own one of his unique portraits or prints
