Pictured are the great grandparents of Alan Betts,
Thomas Barnett and Hannah Owen
Thomas was born in Stratford Upon Avon in 1860 and Hannah was born in Wolverhampton in 1861. Thomas met Hannah after he had moved to Wolverhampton looking for work in the brickyards and they were married in Wolverhampton in 1880
They moved to Littleworth in 1883, Thomas again looking for work and again found a job in Hednesford Brickworks
Thomas died in Hednesford in 1940 and his wife Hannah died shortly after him. You can see in the photograph that Hannah is wearing a tall hat. She was very conscious of her lack of height and wore the hat to make her look taller
